A New Archaeologist in Town

There's a new archaeologist in town! Scottish Borders Council's new Archaeology Officer, Dr. Christopher Bowles, took up the post in October 2008.
Originally from Colorado in the USA, Chris recieved his BA in Anthropology and European History from the University of Colorado (1998), his Msc (distinction) from the University of Edinburgh (2000) and PhD from the University of Glasgow (2006). His PhD was published by British Archaeological Reports in 2007. He has worked as a field archaeologist for a number of Scottish archaeology firms and also as a tour guide for Far Horizons tours of San Anselmo, California.
Chris is passionate about the heritage of the Scottish Borders and relishes the opportunity to promote the past. He looks forward to being a steward of the rich heritage assets in the Borders for years to come.
