Ettleton Churchyard

Former parish churchyard which contains some medieval gravestone fragments.

No trace survives of the medieval church which served Ettleton parish until 1604, except for a collection of carved stones set into the churchyard wall. These include several medieval tomb slabs and a cross head. The churchyard stands between the enclosed landscape of narrow strips, which represent 18th century land allocations to the local community, and the upland grazing where traces of medieval fields still survive.
